If you haven’t heard of The Ordinary they are owned by parent company Deciem and have disrupted the beauty industry like no other skincare brand. Their serums retail for around £5.80 making them extremely affordable but not only that, they are extremely effective. The science behind the brand has stunned me, and quite frankly I think a brand like this has been a long time coming. You can read an interview here by Brandon Truaxe, the Founder of Deciem, The Abnormal Beauty Company.
I picked up the hyaluronic acid first and introduced it seamlessly into my routine. Everybody has dehydration to some degree so this is a good item to introduce yourself to the brand.
Next, I picked up the Lactic Acid 5%. I knew that the lactic acid would work well for me as it’s an ingredient my skin needs. It literally gives results overnight – tighter pores, smoother skin, scars are lessened and redness and blemishes are diminished. I’m 26 still relatively young but it doesn’t mean I’m not starting to consider the future of my skin. I’m slowly updating to accommodate this.
Next on my list was the Glycolic Acid Toning Solution, I knew I wanted a chemical exfoliation as it’s suitable for sensitive skin. This offers mild exfoliation leaving my skin radiant and has definitely improved the texture.
Once I’d finished the hyaluronic acid I was going to repurchase however I stumbled across Squalane which is very high emollience and is an exceptional hydrator. I apply all my acids & treatments first locking them in with this waking up to plumper skin.
A few months ago my skin wasn’t at its best now, it’s improved dramatically! I had a few blemishes I couldn’t shift following advice from Caroline Hirons & a mixture of The products mentioned my skin has improved.
You don’t have to spend a small fortune to have good skin! This is why The Ordinary are doing so well in the beauty world and a very good starting point for any skin type.
